There must be a Tony Banks / Genesis fan that works in programming at our local classical radio station. (WGUC, 90.9FM in Cincinnati, OH.) It's a public-supported station and has been in existence in our city since the 60's. They play at least one of his classical works every month.

It's kind of silly, but i'm nearing 50 and have been an all-eras Genesis / Tony fan since seeing the Abacab video on MTV when i was 11 or 12 in 1981 or '82. (MTV was still brand new then -- it was such a great time to be growing up here in the states!) Anyway, it's that time in life when i'm thinking of trying to give back to society / younger generations and whatnot, so every time i notice them playing a Tony piece i donate $10 to the station with a little note thanking them for playing his music. (I even put in my note one time something like "You might want to check out his new work 'Five'. It's been out a few months already if you're not aware, and in my opinion contains some of his most accessible classical work yet...")

So here we have a choir simulating an instrument that simulates a choir! Just Wow! Still, I suppose it's easier to get forty odd choir members to turn up at the same time than it is to get a mellotron to behave itself for a whole recording session

It's funny that I discovered this amazing composition today. I've been listening to all my early 70's Genesis albums in the past few days and I can truly believe that this piece could have been a part of one of them. Bravo Mr. Banks for giving us the opportunity to listen to such great music, you truly are a master, I've been a fan for over 40 years.

This is truly a magnificent piece of music, my top favourite on "Five" along with "Prelude to A Million Years", which means this album starts and ends with my favourite tracks ... which is always great. There is so much delicacy and sensitivity in this... so much majesty and what one could call "romanticism". The choir is just beautiful, and this violin player so tasty and subtle... It's funny how Tony Banks himself sounds reserved in his interviews (the ones that I could read, at least) and seems to be hiding his emotions... A product of old times English education maybe... But anyway,  this musician has written some of my most beloved music ever and this album is part of what I prefer ! I have always loved the classical edge in Genesis and in music in general. So a big "thank you" for Tony Banks. I just can't wait to hear more music of this quality from you  :o))

Whenever I hear this beautiful piece I am "carried" to a place where peace fills my soul. It's a kind of music that makes good feelings bloom from my heart. This song touched me deeply, as well as "Mad Man Moon" and "Ripples".
What a wonderful composer you are! BRAVO!!!
