Lionsteel is my absolute favourite knife maker at the moment (along with TRC). They produce highly practical knives that have been obviously heavily tested in the field. But for OCD types like myself the fit and finish is just perfect. A few years ago I had a couple of their knives and whilst their knives were perfect in fit and finish, as usual. But one thing always let them down... and that was their edges. They seemed to be all over the place and highly uneven. But no longer. Whoever is now doing their edges knows his stuff. The last 3 I have bought... a B41, an M7 and an m4 all came with edges that were perfect from tip to handle. I cannot recommend lionsteel highly enough. And in terms of actual practical use they are first class. And one of best things of all is the pricing! As soon as I am able to get one the T6 will be my next knife.

Lionsteel always does amazing work. Their fixed blades like this are all amazing in look/finish/performance— hard to go wrong once you find the blade length/handle/steel combo you need

Coated blades (regardless of handle material) comes with nylon. The satin will come with a leather sheath.
Chicago Knife Works sells a kydex sheath for about $40

I just ordered the M5, because I love my B41, M4 and B35 so much. Awesome knives. Fit and finish is superb.

LionSteel is definitely knocking it out of the park with their fixed blades. I currently have the T5 and a M1. I EDC the M1 in an urban setting. It disappears on your hip and comes with a fantastic leather sheath that retains the knife well.

I’m probably the only guy in the world that likes a well made nylon sheath . I’ve had good service out of the SpecOps sheaths I bought based on your reviews back in the day . That sheath on the Lion steel looks well made .

I am European and have loved Lionsteel for a long time. It is also the only brand of which I have all the fixed knives and a large part of the folding knives. The M5 is my favorite because it's ultra versatile. The T6 that I bought recently is also very good but suffers from the length/height of the blade and its very enveloping handle at the level of the hilt hinders finer use. The T5 suffers from the same problem. However, they are all exceptional knives with perfect finishes. The M4 is perfect for hunting, the M5 is perfect for bushcraft. The T6 is more of a survival knife. If you like Lionsteel knives like the M5, I can strongly recommend the "Saturn knives" model "Titano" knife, which is also a marvel. (Sorry for my english, it's à Google translation)

Super thanks for the T5 compare! And you are right, Sliepner is a dream to sharpen - kind of reminds me of 14C28N.

Great review. I contacted Molletta and asked about the grind on the M5 and he said it had a very slight hollow grind and that was the reason it would cut so well at that thickness.

Another great review.
Love my T5. Yeah, they get it. The handle design, not slipping out of the hand. And just …. So cool looking.
Steel is great. My B35 is always in my backpack too.

You never disappoint Aaron. Always the best reviews on You Tube. ... As I'm considering adding a Lion Steel field, fixed blade to my battery, your reviews are really helpful at honing in on the attributes of each of the candidates I'm considering. ... I have a soft spot for more tactically capable blades like the T5, but the way the M7 performed on your review was very impressive. ... We'll see pretty soon. ... Thanks for the superb reviews. ... I'd love to see you out there, my friend.

I did not realize there was much of a difference between the T5 and the M5. I have been toying with the idea of ordering one, so this video was very helpful. Thanks so much. I think I will go with the M5 in satin so I can get the leather sheath!😊

Wow! I got my lionsteel M5 today! And Ive never had a handle on a knife feeling this awesomely comfortable! 🤗😀 And the blade is beautiful and sharp wow! What a design! Alltogether and the sheath leather double soving and so beautifully made as well! And the knife has many areas to be used in buschcraft hunting survival and combat as well! Due to its length so its 10/10! For me, i dont personally need a knife long as an elephants nostrel kind regards by the way real combat knife or not its all about the user how to handle stuff ahead and how to apply it to circumstances all hail to you! Sir! Maestro of all knives on the planet! Awesome knife friend! Kind regards/your finnish knife friend who appreciates you! By the millions.

This M5 model knife is one of the best factory-made knives on the market for years, in my opinion. Thanks for the video. FM

Sleipner isn't a common steel although Casstrom are using it and a few others but Lionsteel were one of the first. It's a 7-8% chrome tool steel and there isn't much on it but it's apparently Bohler Uddeholms answer to 8amod. It's also used in chipper blades as 8amod is. A very very tough steel in the same ball park as cpm3v. Although 3v should hold an edge longer Sleipner at higher hrc outperforms 3v at lower hardness. As 3v toughness falls off a cliff much over 60hrc so is normally run slightly softer 58-59 hrc. Sleipner with the correct heat treat/higher hrc is an excellent choice!

This is an excellent blade. The nylon sheath is not that bad either, its feels like a maxpedition sheath. I love it since the day i bought it. 😊

Ι ΄m aT5 owner and a very happy one! Overall i think is a better choise in a lot of ways. But for sure M5 is a rock solid case for a outdoors activity. Lionsteel is a standart for a happy buyer . Great video.

I think nylon is the best overall sheet material. Maybe not the prettiest, but definitely the longest lasting and best to carry across the chest.
