Honestly bulk buying is horrible because fans want to get their faves on the charts and now companies are trying to stop this problem by removing the physical albums and fans who just want to have them as memorabilia have to suffer because of this and I myself want to buy albums to enjoy but their selling out because of the bulk buying

I'm environmental engineering student so I'm always sad when I think about how many albums and little things kpop industry produces which cannot be recycled. A photo album is not that bad I mean it's like a magazine or a book, but the fact that someone buy more than one of an album just beacause of a little card it's really piss me off. It's horrible to think about the packaging too. We are already swimming in our garbage but we cannot stop. 😢

I hated bulk buying because then the same fans get to talk to the K-pop artists which is frustrating to other fans who are buying just 1-2 albums. 😅 And the same with PCs. How people would buy PCs and sell it for over $100 in MERCARI, EBay etc. And don’t get me started on scalpers buying K-pop tickets making it difficult for fans to get good seats without paying a fortune.

I only buy the albums for the things you get in them and the photo cards 😂

The album throw in the garbage is the girls that buy to get into fansigns, I saw some people resell this albums for cheap or even give away, I want to believe majority do this, same for the album buy for photo cards, is surreal to me they throw it like that I'm sure many fans can't afford even one album, is just reckless people

Collecting is a personal choice. Also don't buy cards from people that take the card out of albums....collect for yourself and don't buy from people that only buy to make a profit off of you.

When this happened, I was so stressed out because I have to think about the space. Then there's those pbs with members only ver. So stressful 😭 then there's those envelope types of albums, wtf. I decided to not buy albums unless it is the box type or hardbound covers even if I like the group. Then we also have pcs priced as ridiculous amount when the album is still being printed 😅 weird merch.

I've been a kpoper since 2008 but started collecting albums & merch since 2020. I started collecting late bcuz 1st I didn't have the opportunity to collect sooner & 2nd the older albums specially the 2nd gen groups didn't really appeal to me like they do now; bcuz they didn't have photocards which I love & as much inclusions as now & the packagings weren't as beautiful as now. So as a person who always loved collecting things, collecting albums of some of my fave groups has become my new habit & joy of life. I love the feeling of excitement when I unbox a package & album & look at all the pictures in person & the excitement of the photocards I pull. For this reason I hate the digital albums; I buy the physical album to put it on my shelf to look at it anytime I'm in my room & feel happy. I cherish all of my albums & in general everything I buy, so seeing people throwing them away like that just makes my heart break.
I always say that kpop days in old days were so much better than now. Now I just really hate the atmosphere & it's all some fans' fault. Of course we all become happy when our faves have records but not to the extent that we give it to them like this!

Theres nothing wrong with buying albums if you’re actually a normal people and buy yourself one album of each version. And if you want a certain photocard then just swap. Bulk buying is stupid as people just give them away as they can’t sell them and they end up in stupid places etc.

I wonder if that's why SM's lately been releasing more digipacks, small paper back book sized and/or magazine style photobooks (at least for NCT)??? I do not mind it whatsoever...giant and/or bulky albums take up way too much space. (I'm still salty about the GIGANTIC Loveholic album that fits on no shelf in existence... like, why?

I appreciate when people who buy multiple albums use the left over albums creatively though, like making binder index collages or creating envelopes out of the pages, or sometimes even using them for packing material as opposed to plastic bubble wrap. I think kpop retailers are feeling the onslaught of promotional stuff too, as they've been using posters as stuffing which is both funny and sad. Too much excess!

In the digital-age, by physical copies of albums staring to become obsolete because there’s no need to buying physical copies and destroying the environment.

Tbh the album and photocard value deteriorated from the past few years, i was so shocked that in our country some of the unsealed albums are being only sold for $2 while the photocards are being sold for as low as $2-3. if i can remember it was higher when i quitted thats why i was able to save up the money before.

I've never participated in bulk buying since supporting SNSD and now. I buy them when I want to actually buy their albums to get the photocard that came with it. Usually, mass order helps a lot for individuals who wants a particular photocard of the member which is a good option. Mass order is not bulk buying but instead individuals come together to get cheaper shipping costs.

now me personally (as a young stan this is just how i feel) i buy albums just bc they are such a nice thing to get my albums are so precious to me, i dont even get albums right when they come out i take my time since life isnt just about kpop and buying albums, i love to buy albums to look through photobooks and listen to the cd and i really love photocards inside them its nice to pull a photocard since pulling pcs makes me happy since i dont know who ill get! i dont see the point in buying pcs its just so lame since you will know what you will get, i dont get why people always fight for photocards, fansigns and argue over streams + votes when its just kpop music😭😭

well as someone from Europe I don't think my favorite group/s will be near my country anytime soon and I'm wayyyy to middle class to afford plane tickets to fly out, book a hotel, ride and flight back. like damn. that's why ordering the album makes up for me at least

Yes, digital is very nice until there is an issue. Years ago, I moved to digital. My laptop crashed, my back-up was corrupted and I lost many digital albums. And the platform where I purchased them didn't have enough history to prove the validity of my purchases....
And streaming, very nice until you are somewhere with no internet connection. Depending where you live, it happens.
So I moved back to physical albums.

I do not bulk buy albums because it is expensive, and I am just a casual fan, and I spend my money on a variety of kpop albums, instead of spending it all to buy 1 album in bulk.

I would love to have the option where you can buy one or two physical albums if you display them but then can get photo card packs when you buy more that just 2 albums
