Using no-go zones in the app can help with avoiding the plant stands. My robot would push around my cats food and water bowl then I put a no-go zone and it never happened again. I highly suggest using the features that this machine is equipped with. A very smart unit indeed.

I have mostly thick carpet and a cat... so I'm glad I watched this. I don't think this will do as good as my Dyson... plus I kinda like the satisfaction of going over a second time and getting it all... that's the best vacuum ever!

I'm running mine for the first time right now and was surprpised when it emptied mid-cycle. Two top improvements over the Roomba: 1.) It can handle Ikea's Poang chairs just fine! and 2.) It doesn't ram into our shower stall glass walls, it doesn't even touch them. Also it's about half as loud as the Roomba. The manual is pretty worthless though- I have no idea how to clean the filter even though it says I must do this. No idea how to get it to dock, until I saw your video (mine doesn't say dock on it). So I'm using YouTube to try to learn how to maintain it. It just finished and the running time was 1.5 hours. I emptied the tank and saw a filter in there - is that the one? In the manual it looks different.

I got some big dogs that shed enough hair to make another dog. This vacuum has helped alot but I have to stop and clean the roller 3 or 4 times a run cycle.

Stumbled upon this excellent review video coz I got a Shark 2-in1 recently and just wanna see what people say before I start using it. According to the manual, it recommends clearing things that are shoring than around 4", so maybe that's why the planter with thin legs got knocked over, coz it was big but got somewhat thin legs? Great review though!

After watching this review we decided to buy it on sale at Costco. While it seemed to vacuum well, the app functionality left a lot to be desired. The scheduling is "all or nothing". Although the app allows you to create and name different rooms in your house, it doesn't allow the scheduling of individual rooms. That is, we wanted to clean different rooms in our house when they were not being used on different days. The Shark app informed us that this is not possible but in the future they may add this functionality. We also experienced frequent 'disconnected' errors on the app. Finally, while it claimed to use LIDAR it failed to recognize objects that were too low for it. As a result it got stuck frequently under certain pieces of furniture. We would only find out later when we would walk into a room where it was wedged under a dresser.
We decided to return it.

Hi nice review, how did the blocking out zones option work for you ? Lots of people have issues with that.

Great video but I cannot hear how loud or how quiet the robot is.

Great review! and nice points, as well. I have owned my Shark Robot Vacuum for about 6 months, and I've had the similar experience to yours, with one exception: (1) I didn't have any issue with plants. There is one plant I have which has a metal-wire type stand, and because the lidar cannot identify the thin metal structure of the stand (too thin) -- it bumps into it, more. However, it doesn't bump hard enough to knock it over, so for me it's a non-issue. As far as issues, I've had only one: (2) Stuff gets stuck in the little door (on the unit) that connects to the home-base, and I have to investigate and usually remove a rock or something so that the door closes properly. Then, the system is happy again. (3) We do have a lot of hair that gets vacuumed up, so I usually clean the brush and roller each day, in order to have it be very pristine and ready for more work. This seems to help, with performance.

Mine keeps disconnected from Wi-Fi and customer care hasn’t been helpful. I will be returning it to Costco. 😢

Yeah, I find most robotic vacuums with the Lars if the object is too short to get picked up by the liar or is too skinny, it’ll keep trying to push it even not detect it with the bumper so I guess it’s not just this things problem. This problem occurs on the Wyze robot vac

How good are Robovacs with leaves? We have a wooded lot...

Mine wore out and got too dirty and tired after about 3 months. It just couldn't handle two dogs, in a busy environment. I need one twice as powerful that could suck up Legos and plant leaves. It's not really set it and forget it either, it becomes harder and harder to deal with as it wears out and gets filthy over time.

Contemplating getting a refurbished one for 179 but so many seem to have issues with the app and WiFi
