This is the most comprehensive baseboard video on YouTube. It goes quick on some parts but overall solid

Note at 7:00 that transition piece was positioned with the bottom against the fence and the perspective is from the opposite side of the saw (for the outside 90 deg bullnose.) This is an awesome instructional video!

Yes! This is what I am looking for, it seems all the other videos talk strictly about installing but no measurements or talking about the angles.

This is the best organized instructional video on YouTube.

Hi Greg,
The bevel angle cuts are:

45 Degrees: Inside or Outside 90 Degree Corners

22.5 Degrees: Inside or Outside 135 Degree Angles; Outside 90 Degree Corners with a bullnose radius.

11.25 Degrees: Inside or Outside 135 Degree Angles that have a radius.

Sir, you really know your stuff. Because of this video I was able to make my baseboards look like they were done professional. I will be looking at more of your videos for my future projects.

Hi Joe, we actually left out much of the information you are mentioning because our moldings are installed differently than MDF baseboard. With polyurethane you use a little bit of adhesive on the back and just shoot 1 1/4" finish nails in every 18". With MDF you want to use a longer nail (since you aren't using adhesive) and be sure to shoot into your studs. The cutting is the same regardless of your materials so we just focused on the typical cuts people may encounter.

Thank you for an amazing video. I am doing DIY project for the 1st time. Had to order apprx 10 feet of flexible polyurethane resin to use it below a semi circular staircase. Instructions says I need to warm up over 70-80deg before installing. Any advise how to warm up that piece?

Thank you so much for this tutorial. first time saw user here... wanted to make a tv tray and used your technique to make the cuts, it turned out perfect and was so easy!!!

It would be great to post some hints for accurate measuring - it can be difficult to get accurate lengths when there's an outside miter on one end but the other end of the piece is an inside miter or needs to fit square and flush against a door casing.

JailhouseRN, this is a fair question, as many people are used to traditional materials like wood and MDF. 1) Our baseboards are waterproof and resistant to flooding damage. 2) Ease of cutting and installation. 3) They are very durable - like wood or MDF. 4) uDecor ships these products directly to your doorstep.

Good video, but I need help measuring where to cut when I have a wall with two inside corners both needing a 45 degree beveled edge. My stock seems to slide and I am short on the next cut. I am measuring to the far end of the wood but it never seems to come out correct.

What is the best blade for cutting the poly trim? I'm having problems with plastic melting with saw and oscillator tool. Thanks

Most helpful direct to the point. I feel more confident now cutting these mouldings. Thanks

This video is beyond my level of experience (and equipment — would love to have a compound miter saw!), but the info was still helpful — THANK YOU! I’m in the process of installing shoe molding in our bathroom (the bathroom was previously carpeted - yuck - and after we installed a laminate floor, ended up with a 1/2” gap between the baseboard and floor). The inside and outside corners are a snap, but there are 4 (math, and especially geometry are NOT my forte). My only “tools” are a miter saw, miter box, and a Dremel (and tape measure, etc.). Regular shoe molding wasn’t going to be tall enough to bridge the 1/2” gap, so I found some “door stop” molding that was a perfect fit. My work isn’t perfect, but caulk does help with appearances. The work is about 90% complete, but watching this video has given me confidence....that at least I’m not doing it wrong, LOL!

When you are doing the coping cut, are you cutting at an angle towards the back of the wood? Or is it straight down?

Hi. What type of adhesive do you recommend for polystyrene baseboards?
