Показать описание
Meet your top 10 candidates for Class of 2016 Senior Speaker!
This video is a compilation of video clips sent in by our 2016 Senior Speaker candidates. The Senior Speaker is a student graduating in December 2015, May 2016, or August 2016 that will deliver a speech at the all-University graduation ceremony at the Bradley Center on May 22nd, 2016.
To be eligible for the Senior Speaker application process, a student must have been nominated by his or her fellow students or professors/faculty members of the University earlier this semester. From there, all nominated students that meet certain eligibility requirements are invited to apply for the position of Speaker.
All the applications are then read by the Senior Speaker Selection Committee. This committee is made up of one senior from each college, one junior, three faculty members from various colleges, the faculty advisor to the committee, and the coordinator. The committee reads every application blindly, and comes together to pick their top ten candidates.
From there, the ten candidates are invited to send in their video clips to introduce themselves to the Marquette community. On April 7th, all Seniors will have the opportunity to vote in the MUSG elections for their top candidates. The three candidates with the most votes will then be invited to write their speeches and perform them for the selection committee. From there, the committee will make their recommendation for Senior Speaker to Dr. Lovell.
