Being there was very very dangerous my friend. It was of course illegal to be there. Most importantly you cant even imagine how much unexploded ordinance could be on the ground. When i was in the army we had to enter a shooting range like that. We were really cautious and we even found unexploded shells from heavy artillery. We had to dispose them with a controlled explosion. Pls dont do that again. Not worth your life.

That’s an American M24 Chaffee. There was around 2, 400 built late 1944. They didn’t see much action during ww2, and were sold off the many foreign countries. Ones in good condition are worth millions today.

m24 light tanks were never part of the battle of Kos. But m24 chaffee tanks did enter service with the Greek army after 1953 when the USA sold them off. These wrecks are examples of what happens when tanks become obsolete and used as targets on an army anti tank range a sad end.
