Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has confirmed the government will move a censure motion against former prime minister Scott Morrison over his secret ministerial portfolios.

Mr Albanese said the inquiry into the scandal found the actions of Mr Morrison “fundamentally undermined the principles of responsible government”.

“Because the former prime minister wasn't responsible to the parliament, and through the parliament to the electors, for the departments that he was appointed to administer," he said during a media conference on Monday.

I have been voting and watching politics in this country for over sixty years. This is a lowest I have seen any government go to discredit a previous PM. It will be passed by numbers but this government and the country should lower their heads in Shame. This PM took us through the worst crisis since WW2 with no help from this government who sat on the sideline and nitpicked. This country and its politics have reached an all time low, I spent 28 years in the military, was in two wars for these low life's and politics to destroy our country. It is time we the people got to the streets and took our country back.

Censuring a Minister can have no Direct Constitutional or Legal Consequences, as an expression of the Senate's Disapproval of Actions or Policies they may have significant Political Impact.
