How to Write an Abstract for a Research Paper

The abstract is one of the most important if not THE most important part of your entire research paper. It needs to accomplish two main objectives: it must give a concise summary of the content of your research paper; and it should seduce the reader into reading or purchasing your full paper.

This video gives step-by-step instructions on how to develop and construct your abstract, as well providing as some dos and don’ts when it comes to composing your abstract. It also features a “sample abstract” that you can use as a guide when composing your own work.

Problem : for example :
The Purpose of This Study is to investigate the connection between urban population proximity to jungles with wild squirrel populations and the incidence of rabies in domestic animals.



3 Method
What did you do? & how did you do it?
So you want to do, to discuss only the most significant method used. which part are most important reader understand your results
Example: (using across-sectional analysis, this study analyzed the incidence of rabies in Brazilian squirrels from 2007 to 2015 and measured these results against a similar study conducted in 2011)



4 Results
Summary of your results
You should determine what the most significant ( state only the most significant result )
You should link this results to your problem and your conclusion
Trend, figures, correlation between phenomena
So Give and focus only the most significant result!!
For example: the proximity of dense urban population to Brazilian squirrel habitats was found to play the greatest role in facilitating the spread of rabies to domestic animals.


5 conclusion

To give the statement about the implication أثار of your study ( this is your conclusion statement )
Relate BACK TO PROBLEM AND PURPOSE
Here some question you can think about answering here:
What do the results mean in the context of the Problem?
What other unanswered questions are there ( about your problem)?
For example :
Conclusion: This study definitely answers the question regarding correlation between proximity to Brazilian squirrels and the transmission of rabies to pets. Further studies are needed to establish causal relationships and develop preventative measure.




Some Tips: keep in mind


Write the abstract last : ( to ensure the information are consistent ..
Always Keep your content in correct order ( start with the introduction and finish with conclusion …
Write the abstract from scratch. (to void a redundant …
Don’t copy and paste.
Only used highly relevant terms .
Relevant Terms = Pertinent Search Results.
