When your front foot breaks the plane towards the plate, you have to continue to the plate. He technically stopped before breaking the plane, so great move

Like a great QB looking off a safety. Or a great no look pass in basketball. That move was all about precision footwork combined with selling the move with his head and face.

He has his head facing the catcher until the last second, your brain is fooled into thinking his initial step is towards the catcher when it’s not at all.

If you cover his head with your thumb, the move is much more clearly not a balk. Notice his left foot lands BEHIND the pitching rubber while his right foot is planted in front of the pitching rubber. He is stepping away from home plate the whole time, not towards it.

⚠️FOR PEOPLE WHO DONT UNDERSTAND BALK. The pitchers foot hit the mound before the pickoff. There must be a throw for this move to happen. Therefore if there is no throw and this move is made, It is a ball. HOPE THIS HELPS!

for the idiots. he didnt balk. he never moved towards home, he steps towards second by flexing his hip and turning it. not ONCE did he approach home.
