Dont misguide him. U dont hve to mix everythng with daal. You can hv individual item too. Each item has its dfrnt taste. Try to feel that. Outenga( elephant apple) that is dfrnt whic has been added in the dish. The lemon that u had that is call Kaji nemu in assamese which is not outenga for your clarification. Proud to be an Assamese. thali have lots of veggies as well as non veg delicacies mostly local spices, spinach, home grown local herbs...etc with mustard seesmee ghost chilly tadka...Non veg Tenga fish, bamboo chicken, pork, seesmee fish, bamboo shoot chicken, duck flavored with local veggies, local style fish tandoori etc etc
