Team Fortress 2 (TF2) is a team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed and published by Valve. It consists of nine classes, Scout, Soldier, Pyro, Demoman, Heavy, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, and Spy, and two teams, Red and Blu. The teams try to take the others' objective, such as an intelligence brief case, or a control point.

I feel like supporting it more could possibly work? Like, showing our support, showing them TF2 can still make them a good amount of money, they just need to update it.

But at the same time... TF2 is honestly very old. Most multiplayer games that aren't MMOs don't last this long at all. I think that they may just sunset the servers soon.

I just hope that they make every item in the game available for free before they do :(

They can't shut down tf2, it is one of the most played games in steam and if they do it the entire community will go crazy

Well it kinda worked when Valve's reputation was put on the line when articles about the bots spamming in both voice chat and regular chat extremely racist shit picked up some steam and made more people aware of the issue. Though the only thing that happened was that they muted F2P players from being able to use any form of communication while the bots still infested servers. There was also some misinformed articles about bots using the spray system to get CP onto your hard-drive which got Valve to update the default setting for sprays to be disabled. So it really only works when their reputation is on the line and even then their "solutions" don't exactly address the massive elephant in the room.

I doubt that they would turn off the servers, as doing so would probably cause even more chaos not just for the tf2 community but other valve games like CS2, and would cause even more bad press for them. Not only that, it would probably cause a major reduction in the marketplace for games like CS2, as players suddenly get hit with the reality that all their items can be taken away at the drop of a hat. Turning TF2 servers off would only hurt Valve.
Although yes, Valve does get a lot from Steam, much more than tf2. However, "It's not about the money, it's about sending a message." We aren't trying to make Valve poor, we are trying to pressure them into doing their own responsibilities.

TF2 is gonna turn 15 this year... not a lot of games around that keep going for this long.

The mere thought that valve just does care so little about team fortress 2 that the community have to use such Methode in order to get one Single fix is just heartbreaking
I mean i dont even have tf2 since i never had a pc and yet im following the content since day one since i knew this game exist and seeing his current state is just breaking my heart

The bots are getting worse. Now every time you vote to kick one they DDoS the server instantly losing the connection.

I enjoy TF2 but the bots are just a pain, if people boycott TF2 valve will probably just shut it down. I hope they don’t but if they plan to do, at least give the community the chance to take over managing it

Don’t boycott Team Fortress 2 because we tried that With Titanfall 2 and it didn’t work. It’s sad to say but the big companies don’t care at this point

Valves policy is that the employees get to choose what the want to work on and because of that basically everyone of them works on vr. Also tf2:s code is a fucking jungle. The joke about the janitor updating tf2 is propably bot true because nobody works on it.
