I ditched this video about ten minutes in for being about three times too long.

Your videos are way too long with a lot of needless bantering. Most people's attention spans don't last more than a few minutes. Just list out the cars with a couple of sentences for commentary and move on. This has become problematic of most of your videos lately to the point where I just stopped watching mainly due to the time factor as mentioned. I'm sure many others have the same criticism and just choosing not to voice their opinion or no longer watch. You may want to check your metrics to prove or disprove my point.

Way too much talking. A top ten list should not take 34 minutes ...trim up the fat and get to the point.

I respect your opinions regarding explaining why these car have high turnover rates, but I think you're looking at it from the wrong angle. All of these cars have incredibly high lease rates and I bet if you look into it most of them are only 1 year leases. I think this explains most of the luxury car's high turnover rates.

German cars want you to drive like a German, which most Americans don't do.... People just get tired of being told how they should drive. When you add in the number of times that it needs to be in the shop, after a year, you've just had enough. I also think that a lot of people buy cars they just can't afford because they want to keep up with the Joneses...

OMG, this is what happens when people don't know how to do actual research. The list follows the business lease car list almost perfectly. Companies lease cars for 1 or 2 years depending on what works out best numbers wise. BMW and Mercedes both hold value well enough to turn them at 1 year. The 200 was a leading fleet car.
Just saying they were sold at a year tells people NOTHING. I keep saying I have no idea why I subscribe, and I do know any video with Roman is going to sound amateurish and unresearched. On top of poor research and horrible delivery now I have to listen to you do a telethon at the beginning of each video.

as far as #10 is concerned, I own a 2017 and I love it. However I noticed a lot of people who buy the WRX and then find themselves test driving the STI a few months later and then trade in for an STI. They want the more rawkus character of the STI. the 2015+ WRX dulled the rough edges when they added a even length headers and add reduced NVH. Also they are slower than the previous Generation. Its not a bad car but expectations are usually misplaced with this car.

Well, maybe the answer, for now, might be the WRX has great resale value? Also, the WRX is a sporty car that appeals to younger, more rash buyers, the 1/3 life crisis car. You'll aways have buyers who regret their purchase immediately, but when great resale allows people to jump ship without getting their feet too wet and a high number of younger, foolish buyers, you can get a lot of cars being dumped in the first year or two.

People who buy beemers and mercedes can afford a new car every year. Makes sense

Bought a 2016 WRX and got rid of it a year later due to the god awful stereo and limited aftermarket options, the crappy heat soak in summer, and (oddly) the chassis being too good for driving on the street. With the stereo, it dropped my Bluetooth connection constantly and the dealer reflashes never fixed it. The heat soak during summer stop and go driving here in the Midwest was significantly worse than my 2006 GTI, 2007 GLI and all the N/A cars I've purchased. Additionally the ultra-progressive throttle calibration and rev-hang were just foolish to keep in the production car. Lastly, the car was so good in the corners and had so much mechanical grip that I had to carry ridiculous speeds in corners in order to enjoy the drive or push the car, speeds that would garner a reckless driving violation; you can get it into a 1ft drift/slip angle and keep it there without the VDC kicking in and ruining the fun. Great second car, but not a primary car at this stage of my life.

Maybe the high rate of BMWs being resold might be due to a high number of fleet/service loaner cars it has in it sales. My local BMW dealer seems to have nearly as many certified "former courtesy loan vehicles" as they do new vehicles for sale.

As for the WRX, that could simply be due to the type of buyer who goes for a WRX. Also, resale makes trade-in less costly in depreciation department.

I'm surprised by your list. Here in Australia the number one lemon is without doubt the Jeep.Any Jeep. You just can't give them away. Car dealers will give you almost nothing for them after only one year, and only a fool would buy one again.

Two points: 1. VW Passat has the un-enviable position as "cover" (YouTube thumbnail) of TFL's "Worst Car Investments, " but it's but on your list. The "cover" should be a BMW, the carmaker with by far the most "worst" investment cars that owners ditch after just one year. 2. Thank you TFLnow for your live streams. I like un-scripted. People who love thinking and hearing and learning about cars are lucky to have this wide-range-ing, if rambling, conversation online!

One thing that would be interesting to know (but probably hard to find out), is how many people traded the car in on a new one of the same model. There are some folks out there who must have the newest model. I think BMW and Mercedes owners might be more often in this category than most other brands, because I view them as more often buying the car as a status symbol than buying for the car's attributes as a vehicle.

I watched a friend buy a purple 200 for his wife. They financed the maintenance, warranty, taxes, and the upside down loan of the previous car into their loan. They wanted out after a few months. Attempted to trade it in and found out they needed $8000 cash to get out of it. Next they bought a journey because they didn’t want a minivan....

Dealer loaner fleets explain some of the figures, being sold after 1 year to put current models into their loaner fleets.

The WRX is kind of disappointing now a days. A Camry is just as fast to 60 now lol
