2014-2016 Toyota Corolla head unit replacement! I remove the stock stereo, and replace it with a high quality Pioneer Radio! The Pioneer DMH1770NEX has Apple Carplay and Android Auto, and I use a CRUX harness to retain steering wheel controls. The harness can be used to install other stereo models as well, such as JVC, Kenwood, Alpine, etc.

I’m amazed at how easy the stock removal is. When I upgraded the stereo in my 2006 Corolla, years ago, you had to take out the center console and disassemble a good portion of the dash.

Great video! Very well explained and show how to install. The sound comparison is noticeable different from the original to the upgrade one, the new one sounds a lot better. Keep it up with these great videos!

Awesome tutorial as usual Clever. Been thinking of upgrading for a long time. I have installed a 5 channel amp in my 2015 and the stock headunit is not great. Sound quality is key for me. Was thinking of doing this radio over the chinese big screen ones. Do you lose steering wheel controls to change the music?

Hey. In your opinion, is this a "more necessary"/higher priority upgrade than adding an amp for new speakers?

Does the back-up camera show on the new unit you've put in? I'm looking to replace mine since Toyota is quoting me $3000+ for a brand new radio unit or if I have it exchange it is going to cost me $1000+!

This video tutorial is great thank you. I followed your speakers tutorials and it worked out amazing. Now I plan on tacking this one. Where would you suggest to route mic cable or a GPS cable? My radio has two cables. The mic and GPS. GPS has a little box. Many thanks!

Can you also comment on the Android auto functionality? Is it wireless and stable connection?

My local stores only have the Dmh-w3000nex locally available, I ordered the crux and the cover. Are these two items capable with the w3000nex model (6.8inch screen, with a slimmer module unit opposed to the the traditional double unit the 1770nex has). I have a 2015 corolla S with the Push to start option. Thanks for the advise 👋🏼

I went with the newest model Dasaita for my 2015 corolla, super easy to install, the harness was indeed plug and play. However the radio reception is not anywhere near the stock sound, the reception is there but the bass and sound goes in and out. I have been researching and it maybe the antenna amp improperly being connected in the harness. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?
