I will say this movie turned out one of the best original sound tracks of the year, and essentially carried this movie along. I had just about called it quits with campy "who did it" thriller movies, abysmally grotesque torture flicks, and laughably stupid slasher films.

"Trap" was a breath of fresh air in that, despite the trailer ostensibly giving away the entire movie before it started, had enough plot progression and creative meanderings that you really are left (until the end) wondering if anyone would get out alive.


This song within the film, is the best out of the set list. It is marvelously melancholy, poignant, and as impassioned a cry for self revival and finding oneself as I've heard in many years of being a student of music and audio engineering. I would almost venture to say Saleka wrote the song to masterfully weave the serial killer's realization that at one point, he was someone else who could have had a future, but was replaced by the murdering monster he is now and is wondering how it all happened.

The greatest line for me was *SPOILER ALERT READ NO FURTHER* when Cooper is shirtless in the kitchen, about to butcher his wife for betraying him, and he whispers, "we could have excruciating self delusion tinged with the faintest tendril of genuine sorrow about losing the fake life he created.

Fantastic film that surprised me the most this year. Best original soundtrack for sure.

If you look he is remembering his own past while listening to her play. This was a great movie…it’s not for everybody. He is trapped in self hate. It’s a double innuendo
