Actually most carriers already support RCS, just Apple only allowed RCS support in the US.

If I verify my carrier supports RCS (thanks for the tip in Settings!!) and I verify that RCS is turned on in Messages, but I still see "Text Message - SMS" when I start a text message to a friend, does that mean his Carrier doesn't support RCS?
