It's always nice to see TTI in hilarious action! That was a nice walk and talk tour of Elizabethtown, NC's town center, Timothy. That second half of their town center is a nice place, but the first have needs rehabilitation. So, the town was named after the love interest of a landowner, huh? Aw, sookie, sookie now! To each his own. 🤣 In answer to your question, Timothy, the Cape Fear River flows past Elizabethtown. Be and stay safe out there, Timothy. GOD bless!

Don't forget to visit the small town of Whiteville NC only a few miles away. It to was once demolished by hurricanes too but it's being restored beautifully. Nice places to shop and eat. Beautiful historical homes. Close to the beaches, I was raised there. Check it out. I think you'll like it.

If any mtn bikers are watching this video, there is a around 12 miles trail just down the road, made for beginners to experts and it's worth the trip. The name of it is Brown's Creek Bike Park. Great video again !

I like our little town but I am more of a Sampson county girl Clinton, NC. My family and I live at Bay Tree Lakes which is across the river. People are identified by living in town or across the river…a little nonverbal riff you might say! It would have been great if you could have a local person to give you a grand tour and educate you on some of the history.

I know what they say about assuming, but I would guess the main reason why the buildings in these little town centers get run down is to help keep the value of the building low to keep the taxes the town demands being paid low. The town councils in these little towns let the big commercial giants open up their stores because they can pay a tiny bit more in taxes (with tax breaks, of course, that aren't extended to the local business owners), which causes all the small businesses to close up, but the local business owners don't want to just sell or give away their commercial property 'just in case'. They also don't want to keep the building maintained since that will keep it's value up and they will have to pay more in taxes. It's a tragic and vicious cycle...

I'm amazed how in brochure's they can make almost anything look beautiful! My grandfather lived in Middlesex and he said you could take a picture of a beautiful farmhouse with land and have a landfill full of trash right behind you 😂. These types of towns don't want you to see the blight of the town but only the "nice" little bit of town. Looks like their planning committee is not very good.
