Archival footage shot by an amateur filmmaker while traveling France in the summer of 1949.

It contains stock footage of the city of Vendôme: a billboard for tourists, the river Loire, people walking downtown, a policeman driving traffic, the Romanesque bell tower of the Trinité abbey, the Chartrain Bridge, the Abbaye de la Trinité, Ruins of the castle, cityscapes, St. George's gate, and more.

Thank you for these beautiful pictures. I really never comment. But I grew up in this city and seeing images from the past does something to me.
At the very beginning of the video we see the "Mail du Maréchal Leclerc" which runs along the Loire. Then we can see "la rue du Change". Then " la Place Saint Martin" where the Statue of "Maréchal de Rochambeau" will be located, with at 0:40 "the Tour Saint-Martin". At 1:05, the facade of the "Abbaye de la Trinité". at 1: 40 the view of the city from the ruins of the castle. at 2:00 the "Porte Saint Georges". And at the very end it must be the TER station in the center of the city.
