Toast - New POS Experience First Impressions

💥 Toast POS is rolling out a new POS Experience which contains a large interface upgrade and some other optimizations that I take a first look at in this video.

🤔 It largely looks like an improved user interface. Let me know what you think - especially if you have access to it already.

This update is awful, I firmly believe nobody at Toast has ever worked in a restaurant, the old version was simple and concise, drinks at the top then easy to read course headings and seat numbers, now that it goes by seats it's a mess and so hard to see what you've ordered and coursed, not to mention all the lines grouping stuff up. The bigger the table and more stuff people order the more confusing and lengthy it is. I don't see one pro with this, I find myself staring at the screen way longer trying to double check what I've ordered and easily spend at least twice as much time ringing stuff in now. The handheld is even more of a nightmare wow, used it for the first time tonight at work...holy hell what a confusing mess. For the record I work at 2 very large and extremely busy restaurants and would say about 90% of the employees hate it, 10% say it's not too bad, and literally 1 person that has said they like it. I'd rather use Breadcrumb at this point. The fact that you're touting new rounded buttons tells me you don't really have a grasp on what is really important in a product like this

This new update is a step backwards as far as the UI is concerned. The old UI was much more user friendly.

As a server who waits on tables, I would be interested to see what you think about the new update? I don’t like it on the handhelds, it’s more difficult to assign seat numbers to customers at tables. Also, when you view a check at a table, fewer items are visible without scrolling.

We just received the update and not a single person likes it. This UI is much more button pushing and swiping up and down the screen then before the update. We all use Toast Go 2 handhelds. Do you know if I get a Toast Go 1 handheld, does the Toast Go 1 handheld use the old UI?

This update is horrible I lost a lot of money the system closing the date x amount, but in the bank the amount that I capture es diffeferent please back the last
