Michigan Southern cab ride between Sturgis,Michigan and Burr Oak. Early 90"s Christmas Santa train. RS2 #466 built 46 out of service 2005 and scrapped 2011.Track now abandoned east of Sturgis to just west of Coldwater, Michigan.See crossings and engine movements at the end.

Dad and i followed them between Coldwater and Sturgis around 1993.

Removed summer of 2013, but looking at the ROW today youd think it was removed 30 40 years ago... IIRC, the line was NOT allowed to become a trail due to the landowners,

Nice! I rode in the S2, #66 with Gordon Morris and his son John from Sturgis to Coldwater one day in the late 80's. Switched and unloaded 3 all-door boxcars at Panel Processers in Coldwater. Long day, but what awesome memories. #466, the very first RS2 that ALCO produced, spent it's entire life in the State of Michigan. It was previously owned by the Detroit & Mackinac Railroad, and I believe it saw service for the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay Railroad before finishing it's life on the Michigan Southern.
