I would recommend Yamate without a doubt, and it is fairly close to Yamamashita Park. Not only a beautiful place, but it also has so much history!

Yokohama resident is here.
Yokohama is effectively a district of Tokyo.

Because of this, it is often mentioned in that context within Japan.
It's residents are treated in the same category as Tokyo residents.

Many Yokohama residents commute to Tokyo, so the size of its downtown is comparable to that of a city of two million people. However, it is significantly larger than other cities in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
Yokohama's Chinatown and port area are familiar tourist destinations in the Tokyo metropolitan area.

On the surface, Yokohama may look like a big city, but its density is much lower than Tokyo, and there are forests and fields on the outskirts. There is also a beach in the city, so I moved there for the spaciousness.

Top 5 Yokohama no.1-5: just live there. The city's location is the best to visit casually other attractive areas: Tokyo, Kamakura, Shonan, Hakone & Izu. Most parts of Yokohama is nearer to Haneda airport than Shibuya and Shinjuku.

I never liked the expression "you want to experience traditional Japan but you can't go to Kyoto" because thre is a lot of traditional Japan everywhere if you look for it as Chiba, Saitama and the Northern Region (Tohoku).

This is a great video, thank you very much for the precious information. We will be staying in Shinjuku, and I am thinking of visiting either the shin-yokohama ramen museum, or the cup noodles museum. Which one would you recommend "more" ? Is it worth going to Yokohama "only" for one of the 2 museums ?

There seems to be a misunderstanding, so please allow me to correct it. It compares the whole of Tokyo(東京都) with the city of Yokohama(横浜市), which is the wrong comparison.
If Yokohama is to be compared with Tokyo, it should be compared with the 23 wards of Tokyo(東京23区), not the Tokyo Prefecture(東京都).
If you are comparing it to Tokyo prefecture, that should be compared to Kanagawa Prefecture, not Yokohama City.

However, the video as a whole is amazingly informative and very impressive!!

Don't bother with the Cup Noodles museum. It's a pathetic waste of time.
Take a tour of the Kirin brewery instead. It's FREE and they give you 3 full pints at the end of it.
