Thank you... When such systems as IMF, World Bank, and Swift step aside their roles as neutral functionaries, then it is time that a new system is adopted. The world economy can not function effectively where politics are allowed interacting with it. The BRICS system would, seemingly, be of a great advantage in that its representation would embrace a more collective management style than what is now dominated primarily by the US. Such a system resembles the League of Nations, which favored a minority.

That said, though I am not an expert on international finance and economics, I disagree with this Chris guy in his assessments. He sounds to me like an apologist to the current system and poses as some kind of "adult in the room". He isn't.

We (and he), need to understand that de-dollarization has become a matter of national security for several nations who are under sanctions. It will also be crucial to protect BRICS as a whole.

There are a lot of very smart people working on this problem and there is no doubt they will prevail sooner rather than later. Translation: By the end of THIS decade, not "in decades".

Single currency introduces single point failure. A distributed currency system would be more robust. A pool of local currencies, backed by real assets is best. IMHO
