Happy New Years! Today Nick teaches beginners how to easily manage a Horde in Project Zomboid. #shorts

Key points:

This is one of the many ways to manage hordes in project zomboid.

Over time, as your character does things around the map, zombies slowly conglomerate into larger crowds due to running from zombies, noises, meta events, etc...

The best way to manage zombie population is to "train your zombies" to open areas (a safe distance from your base!) and to dispose of the horde.

This method is one of the easier ways to take care of a horde.

Tip:
Try to practice shooting the horde as well before you finish them off with a Molotov to earn experience points in shooting related skills, its advised not to use melee with a large amount of zombies.

Did this last night! It worked great! The fire killed hundreds of zombies, and one human... Me. This requires extreme caution.

They respawn after 3 days in the chunks that haven't been revisited, unless your z respawn is off you'll have to do this regularly just to enter Louisville, the Mall and West Point outskirts.

The only issue I have with this tactic is, my packrat syndrom cant be satisfied cause I cant sift through most of the corpses anymore

Perhaps arsonists are the most suited to surviving a zombie apocalypse.

Put a car with its siren blaring in an intersection, or have somewhere not too far to run away and hide into.
leave the siren blaring for like 3-5 ingame hours and come back with a few molotovs.
save's the time of running around in circles or sitting in a car surrounded by hundreds of flaming zombies, you can just chuck a few molotovs and go back to your cover to sit and read

Little tip for future fire bugs...find a big carpark and burn them there...unless you want to see the whole city burn.

I prefer the 2 car and bonfire method. Perfectly safe.

A horde cooked well enough to be served at Spiffo burger

Warning: Fire is not strictly for zombies, Please make sure you have a plan before you chuck a Molotov cocktail into a indoor area where you are standing

Aw, not the bourbon! That could've been a dope-ass water bottle

I like hoarding the low durability hunting knives that get stuck in zombies so I personally like using shotguns to clear hordes.

Actually more realistic than any zombie movie and tv shows dealing with hordes

Reminder matches don’t work with molotovs for whatever reason (I mean seriously? Anything that can light a rag would work irl 🤨)

I usually just walk around till I find a random building with an alley or something to take cover on then book it there, make sure to check if the alley has zombies or a dead end first, I learned that the hard way

For the non vague version of this demonstration…

Equip the Molotov to your primary hand slot and a lighter (it MUST be a lighter) to your secondary hand slot then aim and throw

Joel, from the last of us, would be proud 👏

Go crazy with the shotgun in tandem with this. The sound attracts more zeds and therefor add more wood for the campfire. Always best to get on a good horde burning the moment you wake up from a sleep and that you keep in one area that DOESN'T HAVE ANY BUILDINGS

And everytime you throw the Molly the lighter will glitch and disappear from your secondary hand.

The draw back is that you get no loot from zombies ashes. Also they may spread fire to buildings and destroy the loot inside as well.
