Whats the point of training 6 hours a day when you can get the same results from 30 minutes a few times a week? For example, Arnold could've used that time for more acting lessons.

People gotta realise, that when Arnold came to America, he pretty much had all his muscle density filled to genetic potential. His style changed as he went for more refinement. His style came from powerlifting, his intensity was high and workouts brief back in Germany. Arnold actually used high intensity training for many many years

Mentzer's innovation was highlighting two key ideas. 1. Once you hit muscle failure, doing more is counter-productive. 2. Sufficient rest is essential to build muscle. Tom Platz did legs only twice a month. He trained intensely one day, then allowed for two weeks to rest.

That's actually the best way to put it @ high intensity You're in the gym three times a week for a total of an hour and a half/ low density You're in the gym all day everyday

All high level bodybuilders were on gear and all of them trained differently. What that tells us is it does not matter how you train on gear. For a natural it's definitely in between 30 min and 2 hours somewhere

I would like to say this about what I’ve witnessed between these two personalities. Arnold was an actor and celebrity. A very outgoing person. To him going to the gym is like being at the club or beach. I don’t imagine Arnold actually exercising for 2hrs straight. I imagine him going. Seeing his friends. Working out. Bullshitting. Hanging out. Hitting on girls. To the point he had to workout twice a day to accomplish everything. You have to also wait for your set at the gym. Mike is a very private strong willed person. He wasn’t going to the gym for the bullshit. These are very similar methods but Heavy Duty eliminates all the distractions. Arnold is a politician. Mike is a philosopher.
