That Duck boat memorial got me over & over while editing. What were they thinking?

Most important lesson from this video, I think, is that you should never, ever ignore weather warnings when you're on or near the water.

When I first heard of the duck boat, I thought people died because they couldn't swim and the lake was choppy, but this is so much worse. They were trapped in a tin can and most had no choice but to wait to die.

That iceberg tsunami was terrifying!! Seeing that big black ominous wall coming towards me would’ve given me a straight up heart attack right there!!!! Wow!

The duck boat one is so tragic. I can’t even imagine hearing that 9 members of my family died and not only died but to know their last moments were filled with absolute terror and agony. It’s absolutely heart breaking.😢

The 9 family members 😭 I couldn’t imagine how devastating the losses would be for the rest of their family/extended family

Overall lesson: Humans have in no way conquered nature and you should always take potential threats seriously

Those were members of my family on the duck boat. This was hard to see how they suffered. The Coleman-Curtis family took a big heartbreak. 😢❤️

The fact that the same company is responsible for 4 ferry sinkings and the deadliest peacetime maritime disaster is astonishing

The absolute minimum any captain should do before setting sail is check the weather forecast carefully and delay setting sail if the weather is risky. 🥺

9 members of the same family is so heart breaking and sad. All of these were tragic and very sad, but i can’t imagine losing 9 family members in just a day 😢.

That iceberg tsunami gave me serious chills. I lived in Alaska for a few years and took a couple boating trips to watch ice chunks fall off. I would have never imagined in a million years they could make waves THAT big. I'm in utter shock.

Regarding the duckboat tragedy, thank you for presenting the portion of the memorial service in which Amazing Grace is sung.-- Prayers for all the bereaved loved ones regarding these tragedies. 😪🙏

Speaking as one who has ridden the Duck boat it was scary after. As soon as we hit the main channel, the boat stalled. It took several tries to get it started af, and they kept going. I grab my kid and got ready to bail out. I swore "never again" and never did.

You gotta be a sad person to send someone death threats because they defended themselves from a shark

The couple posing on the rocks ignoring the warnings sickens me.Because of their hubris their children are now motherless, with their last memory being that of their mother being pulled out to sea.My heart goes out to the children ❤

The picture before the duck boat ride made my heart drop 😢

The "Ride the Ducks" captain did everything wrong from the beginning of his last voyage! It was irresponsible for him to even be on the water, but the clincher of his complete stupidity is telling the passengers it isn't necessary to wear a life jacket! How idiotic! Thank you for another great video!! 🤗❤

If anyone is wondering how some of the duck boat passengers could be stuck on the lake bed but not still be inside the boat. Most humans are negatively boyant at around 30 feet of depth.

The iceberg is known as a "shooter" - it happens when ice breaks off the glacial front beneath the water and, because Ice floats in water, shoots up to the surface, displacing water as it does so. They are impossible to predict and can be very very large.
