You don't have to get that close to Donkey Kong you can jump by the white pole, but as you jump you must push to the left or the right after hitting the jump button.

I have been doing this trick the way you described it Gruz, and the way Geronimo did since the game was released back in 1981. To get the most amount of points possible before the timer ends is to create your own pattern where the fire ducks are trapped on the opposite side of the screen from where Mario is.

FYI to everyone, you don’t need to get that close to him to pull it off. Also you want to leave the last rivet right next to that spot so that if a fireball comes up you can bail if you need to.

I did this trick on a Donkey Kong Donkey Kong Junior And Mario Bros. Arcade Cabinet. It’s basically a three games in one Arcade Cabinet. So yeah, I did the trick and I’m proud of it.
