Restored RHD 1967 MGB GT - One Take

The MGB GT is a collector car to look out for. Though small, underpowered, and with hugely varying build quality, their charm and style will undoubtedly raise their value in the future. This right-hand drive example was lovingly restored to stock configuration, with the exception of slightly wider tires for a bit more grip.

Check out this MGB GT on Wheelwell!

One of the best one takes so far, the classic cars are my favourite! B GT's are lovely looking machines.

Wow. Super cool car, cool owner...."Rebellion against automation" is an idea that really speaks to me.

The Smoking Tire is getting better all the time!

Classic cars are awesome. They have their quirks, but they are engaging to no end, and have buckets of character. You enjoy just driving them, who cares about 0-60 or lap times when you are having such a blast.

The English countryside roads tends to be narrower and more bumpy! Though the gap between 3rd and 4th is wide, don't forget that, when properly maintained, the B-series engine will run almost flat-out all day so you can take 2nd up to 5.5 and then 3rd comes in at 3.5, or thereabouts, where all the torque starts. So as long as you keep the engine working the ratios aren't that badly matched to the engine. Our cars are renowned for unreliability in the USA because thy are so often neglected (in the last few years it's the same here - many classic car owners don't get their hands dirty and modern mechanics are often lost without diagnostics and don't know how to adjust tappets and points) but not so long ago, here in spanner-crazy UK, they were very, very reliable - they just need regular maintenance.

Reminds me a lot of my Dad's '67 MGB Roadster. Though my dad's is US spec. Most of the B's production actually got exported, at least for the roadsters as far as I know. I helped my dad rebuild his MGB when I was young, and that is what started my love for wrenching on cars and learning how they work. Also, it started a love for classic, and British cars. I learned how to drive stick on my Dad's MGB too. That was a nightmare, since there has been a lot of work done on the engine, and it doesn't like to idle for long.

I loved my British Racing Green '67 MGB, bought it used for $1200 for it '71 with 30k miles. I put on an Abarth exhaust, it sounded great and the car ran at its best in the rain. The MG line was popular when I was in HS in the late 1960's with several A's & B's in the parking lot, one friend had a straight six MGC. Hilly and twisty NJ roads were perfect for the MGB. They did need a lot of care though, it was difficult to find a used one in really good condition. Because they were inexpensive, the original owners usually didn't know much about their cars and they didn't take proper care of them. Love the toggle switches in that car!

Sounds awesome! Sometimes a little 4 cylinder can sound just as good as a V8 in the right car...

The MGB GT is one of the handsomest cars ever produced. Not very powerful and lacking a lot of creature comforts, but absolutely gorgeous lines.

Good video! I can relate to this guy even though I may be half his age. I've spent the last 10-11 years in machining mainly CNC machining and everyday that goes by I appreciate mechanical non computerized things more and more.
