"My Funny Valentine" written by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart for the 1937 Broadway musical Babes in Arms, was recorded by Frank Sinatra on November 5, 1953 as a part of his first Capitol LP, Songs For Young Lovers, released in 1954. This was his first album collaboration with the great Nelson Riddle. Originally released as a 10” LP, it was later combined with another album, Swing Easy, released as a 12” LP, and is available on CD. My beautiful mother adored Frank Sinatra & she gave me the gift of his amazing talent! I was able to take her to see him a half dozen times & she was thrilled! My mom amazed me wanting to stand outside Radio City Music Hall to try & see him leave! My 60+ yr. old mom! I couldn't get her to leave! I hope she's met him in Heaven! I love them both!
