You know what’s amazing, I started doing the silent prayer 3 days ago after not doing it for a year or so and I woke up in the middle of the night with a bad thought and immediately could see it wasn’t me thinking the thought, I fell right back to sleep without it penetrating my mind and when I woke up for real, I couldn’t even remember what the thought was. I just remember waking up and thinking this is not me. Amazing

What's missing from a lot of prayer is taking the time to listen to God. I think this creates the space to listen and hear. Amazing!
