7:00 - so common isn't it with technology that everything gets put on the touchscreen when its not convenient and indeed dangerous when driving that the most used controls should be button touched. like volume, cooling/heating

Remember that the vehicle has voice control for not just CarPlay and Android Auto but also for heating and its own nav system. The climate voice temperature control is very efficient and instant. Fuel economy.. my bi-turbo Ranger easily gets down to 8.3 l/100kms on normal roads unloaded without trying but driven sensibly below 70mph.

I think that this is the vehicle for delivery vehicle use in the city or for rural mail contractors and the like, and even a bit of offroad work for the weekend warrior. The more basic interior will be welcomed by many, as will the creature comforts. Good review.

No G-clamp locations on the tailgate… deal-breaker! Not really but I have actually used them a couple of times on my Ranger, which I never thought I would.

These are currently advertised D/A for less than the MRRP before on-road costs. Demo versions D/A for 52K. I guess they’re not selling? At that price point they seem to be pretty good value compared to the Ranger XLS/XLT.

Just a question about the wheel studs. Someone once told me that the old Amarok doesn't have studs but bolts instead. This would make changing a mud tyre off road a real struggle. Does the new model have studs?

All these Ute's are mostly subsidised by the Tax Department as most would be bought by Business and written off as an expense, I'm absolutely certain that sales would halve if they weren't, the ordinary run of the mill "Great Unwashed" just does not have that sort of money to squander on a tarted up cheap ute on steroids, that's all they are.
