Woodturning - Black Maple Flower (curved with fire)

Some people said this wood is black maple!!! Can somebody can tell me if is right or what is that species of wood I also got a really big burl is this wood waiting to be on the lathe. The grain is so amazing you have to see that and tell me in the comment what do you think of the final flower??? I see the trick with fire to curve the flower at the end and I wanted to try this
