I’m constantly terrified that everyone hates me, even with my closest friends. I heard this song for the first time today. Not paying attention to any lyrics to the songs before. But I heard “of course your friends love you, what are you talking about?” And I swear time stopped. I instantly started crying... this song gave me some kind of hope for myself ❤️❤️

I was video chatting with my best friend and “accidentally” stuck up the middle finger at her. Unfortunately her mum saw somehow.shes polish so is her mum. Her mum then took the headphones off her and started talking to me. Usually I wouldn’t mind but her accent scared me.i had a polish step mum once and she was cruel. I freaked and hung up.i think I got my best and only friend in trouble. I was on the verge of tears and automatically came to this video. This calmed me down from an anxiety attack.thnak you so much cavetown.you have no idea how much your music helps people.

I’m one of those people who bottles up emotions, seems pretty cold at first glance, and very rarely cries. Within this year and all of last year, I only cried three times. Two of the times having to do with suicidal friends (nobody died, don’t worry), and once because my dog was missing for days and I thought she was dead (she turned out to be stuck in a trap wire for coyotes, and she survived). This song made me cry. It made me *sob* . Specifically the line “You’re not a monster, and no one’s gonna shut you out”. I tend to think that someday everyone in my life is just going to hate me and want nothing to do with me.. but this line just made me feel wanted, cared for, loved...
I just really needed to hear this and see the lyrics... so thank you ❤️
