Everyone should just be aware of the insurance you mention that costs around £10 where some companies will send a replacement blind if anyone has measured the size incorrectly. What some companies do not mention is that the customer has to pay the postage cost of returning the blinds. Depending on the size of the blind this could cost up to £50. Best check this with the company before buying.

I bought the same blind from Blinds To Go last July and it’s still in the box. My window is like yours with the handles and I just couldn’t work out how to put it up. You saved the day. Today, I thought I have to put that blind up, it’s driving me mad not having the privacy I need. Brilliant demonstration.

Thank you.

Thanks for posting. I really like the 2 different blinds for day & night. You're always giving me good ideas to improve the house. Thanks.

This is a great review as it was informative and clear to understand. Because of you I am now ditching the net curtains and getting these, which I never know existed untill now :) . Thank you and stay safe.

One thing I would love to see you doing is encasing the sides of the blinds where the gap is to make them fully blacked out

What an interesting vlog this is, I did not know about these type of blinds nor that you can order made to measure one's.
Thanks for sharing.

wow these are really great. I want to replace my very expensive custom blinds with these "shades" as we call them. Much more usable. I could easily have all the light coming in with the mesh but nobody can see in, brilliant.

I have a question for you :). How do you fill holes in a way that makes it structurally as good as new? Take the drill holes you made in this vid for example. If you wanted to fit a different type of blinds some day, you'd remove these ones and end up with holes where these screws used to be. You could fill them in with plaster to make a visually invisible filling, but plaster is weaker than brick, so if you need to drill close to the old holes for the new blinds ("close" meaning within one drill diameter), you'll find the drill bit pulls itself toward the old holes where all there is is weak plaster.

Is there a way to fill drill holes that's as strong as the original brick and can be drilled without the bit wandering, and can bear loads as well as virgin brick? Maybe using cement?

Most blinds come in a set series of sizes!
You just need to make sure you measure the window the right way (height and width) and then cut the width down to size. It can be a bit tricky to get a nice cut the whole length ... and the central roll is usually steel so a decent hacksaw is good for that bit ;0)
With that type it typically slots in one end and then slides the other with a plastic retainer, but some need to flex the bracket to allow this. Unfortunately this means you will not be able to fix into the side wall easily!
There is also the added excitement with older houses where the window top is not at 90 degrees to the side! Of course if you have a modern PVC window you cant screw into that easily eather!

These are great, very common in Australia ( lived there) just looking into blinds etc as sone window have them fitted into glass itself.
You’ve made a great job. Curtains are softer but we have allergies so just dust gatherers.

Hi, can you tell me what colour combination these blinds are? They’d be ideal for our house

Hi can I ask does the light layer allow much airflow with the windows open? Hoping to use the light one as a flyscreen when the windows are open to air the room. Thanks!

Quick question: can you put a roller blind on a normal curtain rod and NOT use the mechanical part? I just want it to hang (and need to weight at the bottom to make it flatter) to use it as a backdrop for webcam meetings. Thanks

I live in an East facing property with very little afternoon daylight. How much daylight do you find the blinds block? Do they block out significantly more than simple sheers?

Love your videos, we just got a kitchen fitted and the guy wasn't as knowledgeable as we thought. Thanks to things I've picked up on your channel I was able to go in and "tell" him how to do certain things. We're going to be fitting wetwall ourselves, got any tips on doing that in a kitchen? I imagine it'll be the same but all the videos or online advice is for bathrooms xx

Hi - do you have the name of the exact blind you used please? There seems to be a variety of types of mesh underlay - do they all keep the privacy level from the outside as well as the blind in your video? I'd love to buy this blind!
