If you respec, are there any negative downsides to changing classes? Do you lose skill points/and can you change back at any time or what?

how should i reset my pet skill points?i mean the skill that makes your pet stronger, it says i need a class trainer, but what class i need, i tried ranger trainer(i'm a ranger) but it doesnt help

if you learn the skill then it will automatically go to your hotbar
