Which unit is better? Dominions or Battle Sisters

You can build Battle Sisters or Dominions from the same boxed set but which one should you build? Which Adepta Sororitas unit is better in the 10th edition codex? I look at how to build the sisters of battle and dominions, which weapons to use, tactical advice and compare the unit abilities to determine which unit is better for its points.
This is suitable to explain Sisters of Battle for beginners so you understand how to play Adepta Sororitas in 10th edition.

Is it worth adding a Palatine to your units?

Master is wise, for when you ask a question he tells you both yes and no!

Love the video!

My main issue with Battlesisters is their cost. Battlesisters start performing very well with double attached leaders, but that is pricey. Meanwhile, Dominion perform 100% well with zero leader support. More flamers means more fun, reaction move makes them more survivable, and assault in all detachments. And of course as mentioned, their 4 flamers (+ hand flamer) really benefit from +1 str.

Very actual video for me, currently building 2 squads from 25 sisters.

This is great. I've got 4 units of Battle Sisters + 1 unit of Dominions + 1 unit of Retributors as my firm base, all loaded with a character OR two, where applicable.
Anything else, just bolts on as the mood swings.

My problem with sticky objective on Sisters of Battle is that it is antithetical to Simulacrum.
With Simulacrum, you want to keep your unit on the objective for the die. With sticky, you want to move them out as soon as possible.
I guess that it is ok if you split the unit and the half without the simulacrum advances to some point and makes it sticky and them move.
But it is so niche that the always useful 6" reaction movement of Dominions is almost always superior, in my opinion.

I’ve watched tactical tortoise recently who advised you place a unit of scout move troops in your front line to scout forward if you go 2nd against an assault heavy force to protect your valuable units. If you’ve split your dominion squad, you could place your flamers or a 5 girl sacrificial unit. Leaving their prize unit in front of your army.

Stuck on the very same question. But as I probably need battleline for more points. I went for battle sisters

Seems to come down to OC and Battleline. From what I remember, one of the new secret missions requires the enemy have no Battleline alive outside their deployment zone, so you'd want to stymie that at least a little.

I was really hoping we'd get to field 20 woman battle sister squads again this edition =\ Would be kinda crazy with Hospitaller or Imagifier support tho.

I feel like the ideal is one squad of each and then the debate is over which the third box of sisters should be. 115pts isn't a lot, after all.

I do think the Dominions have the regular old Battle Sisters pipped to the post atm, but honestly if the Battle Sisters just came down like 10~ish points I think that'd be enough to redress the discrepancy.

I've been gradually phasing in Sisters Superior with either Hand Flamers or Inferno Pistols to match the rest of their unit. The Inferno might be shorter ranged than Plasma, but it has better AP and if you can shoot it point-blank will do at least 3 damage, up to a max of 5. (It's also great for tanky Canonesses holding up tough things in combat)
Generally with Dominions vs BSS I go heavier on BSS. The Dominions get some very good rules, but Retributors bring melta better and Seraphim bring more flamers. BSS, meanwhile, have access to the multi-melta/ Palatine/ Dialogus combo, can escort the Triumph, or make a bunker with -1 to be hit from Junith and either 2+/4++ from an Imagifier or 5+++ and regeneration from a Hospitalier. Their big downside is that the points for those support characters add up fast, and start making the Assassinate secondary look very appealing to an opponent.

Saint Celestine and Greyfax best 40k couple.

my army contains 2 units of both battle sisters and dominion.
for me dominion are my extra army damage dealers/self deploy zone holders. i give them meltaguns so they can hop out a immolator and pop vehicles while hopping back in the immolator should the opponent move anti infantry too close to them. while the half not using the immolator stays at the back and hold the objective in my deployment zone as long as they can till a deep strike opponent come up and try to give me the additional miracle dice on a 4+. this allows for more units and models to advance and focus on the middle battle field and fighting.

my battle sisters i use for my infantry. with one attached to triumph as simply pure bodyguards, and the other with a palatine for lethal hits and an imagifier to change them to a 2+ save 4+ invuln. (which i feel is better to take over a hospitallier if their staying near the triumph to get a 6+ FNP anyway) and play the support fire role against infantry and try to hold the NML objectives.

if i had to choose one or the other. i would pick battle sisters over dominion as they are much more customisable to deal with certain situations.
My reason to pick dominion over battle sisters is if i was not using the fire detachment so as too have that addition of advance to run up the board and contest/hold mid objectives with their assault weapons while the rest of your army play catch up. especially if you decide to not run novitiates.

this is just my opinion on this.

Running astred with storm bolter Doms can be pretty potent

Can't figure out a single setup where dominions are not better, honestly. More firepower, better mobility, better chance of surviving turn 2 and 3.

I'm running both, splitting up Dominions with the Immo. Dominion Simulacrum goes on the home obj.

So on the one hand you get sticky which works for elite armies where holding an objective is costly and the battleline keyword but is pointless in an army with 30 point units where the cost of holding an objective is cheap. The units not survivable enough to make oc2 meaningful

And on the other you get more effective melta output, a reactive move and scout and assault weapons its not a contest

One units been nerfed ones been buffed and now their the same cost
