I don't care what anybody says Andrew but your video reviews can't be beat! It is because of you that I'm enjoying my Asus gaming laptop!! Lenovo makes great laptops as they've been doing it for many years. Thank you once again for your very detailed, very informative review!!! 👏👍😁

Hi folks, i had the Yoga 9i for a few weeks. Overall it will be a good convertible, that was the reason after CES 2022 i have knew: "I will book it also without tests". But please consider the electronic of the fans is really terrible. I hoped it will be a production fault but i isn't. Please go to 10:00 and set your speakers louder. You will hear besides the typical airborne noise a terrible high frequent noise. This noise is also noticeable when the fans are running at low rpm. At this situation you can't hear the ariborne noise, but the terrible high frequent noise comming from most probably from the electronic of the fans.
Maybe other guys have no problem, it's right that i have a tinnitus and i'm nowadays sensitive for some high frequent noise, but my girlfriend has a typical 700€ notebook and i had not told and she said, that the notebook has a unpleasent noise.

If you will buy, please take the IPS or maximum the 2, 8K. The OLEDN plus 4K will consume too much and for 14 inch i don't thinkt that 4K is nessesary.

Hi Andrew
I really like the 4k version the screen is very sharp. I do a lot of spreadsheets and plan to edit photos. Love your reviews.

Hi Marc, thanks for an excellent and informative review. Regarding the Stylus / Pen, Lenovo bundles an E-Color pen, which has hexagonal sides on the barrel with two button on the sides, and one on top, with all three buttons configurable. Again the very interesting point to note about this pen is, it has a feature which allows picking color from any object and then using that color on the screen.

Nice to see Intel 12th generation product hitting the market. Certainly one I will consider after I see more releases from all the suppliers.

I would like the OLED but it may be a little pricey and I do put a big emphasis on battery life. As long as the text --what I mostly work with--is crisp the 1920 x 1200 10 x 9 disoplay is probably a better choice for my needs.

I hope Lenovo's FHD modeI with 16GB and a 1TB drive (please Lenivo make it as fast as the OLED version's) is $ competive.

Thanks for the review. Excellent as always.

The performance difference you noticed is mainly due to the resolution difference of both display (FHD vs 4k).
Driving all the pixels of the 4k display is much more taxing for the CPU/GPU.
Of course you can get back performance if you decrease the resolution of the 4k display to FHD but often not fully because you get an additional processing step (fitting FHD images in a 4k display)

Thanks again Andrew for a great review. It'd be great to see a comparison with the xps and the spectre 360 which are also top dogs in this category

I was drooling over this a few days ago! I think I'm gonna go for the 2.8k model which is the one for sale right now in the UK. It's that nice middle ground. I had a Dell XPS 13 4K and the battery life was terrible and I don't think you need 4k on a laptop.

Sounds all great. Still waiting to compare it with the Thinkpad X1 Yoga G7 though. Especially Keyboard, Battery Life and durability might be even better, and there will be matte screen options.

I recently bought the yoga slim 7 pro(the ryzen 9 version) and I fell in love with it.
This new model looks even better! Though i'm not bummed since i'm happy with what the 7 pro gives me

Thank so much for this review! I've been so torn between the 9i with IPS or that beautiful OLED or the new ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 7. It looks like the 9i consistently performs better than the ThinkPad because the latter seems throttled to avoid fan noise? I think even getting the 8GB is an option since it seems to do better in benchmarks than the 16GB version so for my needs, perhaps going cheaper may be fine. Do you have any insights that you'd be willing to share? Thanks Andrew for the amazing review!

Great review Andrew! Great channel too.
On the OLED version, do you have detials at what brightness PWM starts to show up?
I'm also torn between ips and oled (due to pwm). Will not be consuming much media anyway, more productivity work, but my concern is the resolution might be too low on the IPS. Are the text crisp and sharp on the FHD? Thanks man and also looking forward to you thinkpad Z13 review!

They need to put a 32GB RAM option, similar to the Slim 9i. This would be an easy buy for me, trying to upgrade my Yoga 920
