Great choices.

Mike Powell's 8.95m performance still sends shivers down my spine. Same goes for Jonathan Edwards TJ WR. And when Bolt's 200m WR is downright electrifying.

Carl Lewis broke the 100m World record in 1991 WC final with probably the best field ever in the final that certainly should be in the top 10

Clearly not surprised that #'s 2 and 1 were Usain Bolt's records

The reason they didn't include some records is because they were at the olympics this is iaaf so read the description before hating

We all know Usain Bolt. But Carl Lewis's performance in long jump at that WC 1991 final was awesome : four of his jumps are above 8.80 :

3rd jump : 8.83
4th jump : 8.91
5th jump : 8.87
last : 8.84
The last two jumps were his efforts to beat Powell's previous 8.95.

Those jumps will win any competitions bar the WC 1991. Nowadays, we only see athletes struggle to reach 8.40.
Btw, he also set new WR in 100m final with 9.86 and 4x100m final with 37.50.

Great list. But the US men who broke the 4x400 world record in 1993 deserves at minimum an honorable mention. That was a clinic from four supremely gifted athletes who were all at their peaks, including the fastest ever 400 meter leg by anyone: 42.9 from MJ. Unbelievable showing

Undoubtedly #1. The sheer audacity to ask the world if they are ready to witness history being made and then go on to utterly stun the world. Legend.

Some of the women records from the 80's is the best ones, like Flo-jo 100&200, Joyner Keerse in heptathlon, Marita Koch in 400, and Gabriele Reinsch at discus is arguable the best top 5 ever

Why Sally Gunnell's 400h and not Kim Batten's 400h? They were both set at the WC in tight races and Batten's came after Gunnell's.

Ashton Eaton is so underrated, quite possibly the best athlete of all time

9:43 righ ankle? Also the race shows Johnson was 32YO and the commentator says 31YO? So much confusion going on here.
