£300 on race shoes if you are a casual runner is crazy

Well for us mere mortals I don't see the point in spending that kind of money on an occasional use racing shoe. Even though I am expecting to run 3 half marathons during 2024 at a sub 2 hour mark aiming at 1:45 by October, I'm going for some more inexpensive opinions.

Loved the OG alphas. Version 2 I came around to in the end, hold all my PBs from 10k to 50k in the alphaflys.
Cant wait to try these out

Nah, I could buy Gucci but it won't make me a runway model, no way could I justify spending £300 on runners when my main reason for running, is my mental health and getting fitter, not race times.

I mean, geez, all some people seem to talk about is money and price tags. If you’re not willing to pay this or that amount for this or that consumer item, who cares? I can’t afford many things, either, but other people can, leave them alone with their choices. Why do these people need to browse the internet all day telling people whether a pair of shoes is worth it or not? This is not elementary school, go run barefoot or in one of the dozens of 50 bucks shoes available out there, whatever suits you IS FINE, NOBODY CARES!

Running isn't for everyone it's for the elite people with alot of money! Even race days are expensive to get into and these trainers for a whopping £300 is ridiculous. You can't just "put some trainers on and run" you gotta remortgage your house and sell your kids to run and enter races and wear the decent trainers that will have you smash your PB seriously not worth it

Am I the only one who noticed that he pronounced Nike(nye-key) the right way at first and then a little later proceeds to say it the wrong way(nye-kk)?
