I think the biggest problem to this matchup is there would really be no reason for them to be on each other’s radar. Barring a freak accident, Hannibal would never leave any evidence that would tip Dexter off to his existence. And Hannibal generally only goes for those he perceives as having slighted him through rudeness, personal offense, etc., which Dexter is too polite in his day to day life to do, and he gives other killers the ‘professional courtesy’ of not interfering in their business unless he’s targeting them.

honestly hannibal may identity dexter first aeeing as hes a psychopath and an expert psychologist

he may play with dexter as he enjoys playing with people and interested in the minds of fellow murders
he even shares an interest he kills pedophiles possibly even tricking dexter into thinking they are the same

but he also kills people with bad manners so dexter could easily be his target

Hannibal is the perfect therapist for serial killers. I think that he’d get Hannibal on his table, then Hannibal would psychoanalyze Dexter with a session on the table, and lead Dexter to reassess his decisions. Dexter lets him go and contacts him from time to time for therapy.

Hannibal is good at identifying a person's achilles heel and manipulating it for his entertainment. Dexter may be able to creep up on Hannibal, but if he gave Hannibal a chance to speak at all, it's all over. Dexter has too much baggage and throughout the series is questioning who he really is or wants to be. Hannibal would twist him into knots.
