So after listening to all three songs a couple times through here’s what I got: I thoroughly enjoy the approach to a different style, especially that very 80’s feel/sound (more apparent in the “Hard to Love” & “Casket”) I’ve always thought anyone who can pull that off should do it every now and then as a good change of pace. I should say, even though I enjoy these songs, I really hope TCTT stays mainly in the post hardcore realm. That is where they truly shine. I do wish there were moments, in this song especially that Keaton let loose a little more, especially with the clear somber tone of this song. I also kind of feel like his voice might just be a little tired though as they were very active touring the last couple years. Other than that these three songs are super solid to me. The one thing that bugged me more than anything though is the drum perspective switching in the songs (1. Audience perspective, 2. Drummer perspective, 3. Audience perspective). As a drummer I notice that immediately but it’s nothing that will ruin the songs or anything lol
