Just wanted to say thanks for these videos, and the lack of ads is appreciated!

For anyone else that doesn't know (second day using Reaper), VCA stands for voltage controlled amplifier.

Great vid Kenny. I would love to have a folder collapse function in Reaper that could be applied directly to VCAs, busses, groups and tracks independently. This way all routing and buss FX relationships would remain in tact with the added bonus of folder collapsable organization. Perhaps it could be incorporated into the group menu, Shift + G. Cheers.

Hi Kenny,
Great compilation of videos. I've been waiting for this video!
Why was I just wondering lately about "where is Kenny" - is he on vacation? :-)
I now know what you've been up to.
What can I say but THANK
Eric

What if you used a combination of a folder and a VCA, VCA master on the folder and slave on the tracks within it?
I know you group them twice so to speak but that would at least fix the issue of sends within the folder.
Or perhaps it's better to have a folder and a separate VCA.

Good vidéos, but it begin to be a little complicated. So when grouping tracks, just checking the vca switch will allow ?

Thanks for those vidéos they are perfect. Sometime I read them at 0.75 speed as this is not my language.

hi Kenny what do you recommend in terms of setup to have VCA master and slave capability but also have the ability to have drum bus effects- so what's the best way to use VCA and folders simultaneously

So this means that Track Fader comes after the VCA and the FX Chain(Post FX). But where does the VCA come in the signal chain, before or after the FX Chain ?
If before, then the VCA Master controls the volume of the audio PRE FX, Right ?

If after, then the VCA Master controls the volume of the audio POST FX but pre Track Fader. If latter, then whats the difference between a VCA Master & Volume Master and their corresponding Slaves ?

Let me know if you need further explanation...& correct me if i am wrong

Kenny, love your videos! Thanks so much. Quick question, with so much functionality of the track groups, i still don't quite understand the difference between them and the vcas. Is it mostly the way they affect and interact with send levels? I know you basically explained this but I'm still confused. Thanks man!

I still don't understand what vca is compared to other parameters grouping. It's been a while since we could group the volume or solo or other track parameters. Then what is vca?

So why use a folder if it's better to use a VCA master? Only to save space?

So would the solution to optimal submixes  be 1 VCA to control the level and pan for the group, and 1 folder to have to run all the sounds through?  Why can't there be a VCA/folder track that has both capabilities?

If I use VCAs, and I have my guitars hard panned Left and Right, will this be preserved?

What does abbreviant letters VCA stand for?

I still dont understand why you would use a vca instead of a folder.
