Ομάδα εθελοντών για τα αδέσποτα στον Ασπρόπυργο~Volunteer group for the stray animals in Aspropyrgos-Greece.
Η σελίδα αυτή είναι συνέχεια της προσπάθειας που κάνει η ομάδα μας και δημιουργήθηκε με σκοπό την καλύτερη και ευκολότερη προώθηση των ζώων μας για υιοθεσία.

Η ομάδα "Τα φαντάσματα του Ασπροπύργου" δημιουργήθηκε μετά από έκκληση βοήθειας ανθρώπων που ζουν ή/και εργάζονται στην περιοχή για τα αδέσποτα ζώα τα οποία ζουν σε άθλια κατάσταση....
Οι άνθρωποι αυτοί, ταΐζουν καθημερινά τα δεκάδες ζώα.
Οι αυξημένες ανάγκες όμως, μιας και τα ζώα είναι πάρα πολλά και τα περισσότερα άρρωστα, έφεραν τους ανθρώπους αυτούς σε συναισθηματικό αλλά κυρίως οικονομικό αδιέξοδο.....έπειτα από έκκληση των ανθρώπων αυτών και με πρωτοβουλία της Μαρίας Γιανούλη, δημιουργήθηκε η ομάδα "Τα φαντάσματα του Ασπροπύργου" στο Facebook .
Από κει και μετά ξεκίνησε ένας αγώνας από εθελοντές φιλόζωους πολίτες για την σίτιση αλλά και την ανακούφιση των ταλαίπωρων αυτών ζώων που δεν επέλεξαν να είναι εκεί και να ζουν έτσι (κάποιος τα ''ΠΕΤΑΞΕ'' εκεί...)

ENGLISH:
The group "The Ghosts of Aspropirgos" was created when people who work/live there,made a plea for help for the stray animals in the area of Aspropirgos who live under dire conditions .
People who used to work in the area at the time , along with a couple of other volunteers who work and live nearby , would feed tens of animals every day .
But the demands of the big number of strays , most which are sick , brought the volunteers to a sentimental and financial standstill .
After they requested for help , Maria Gianouli took the initiative to create the group "The Ghosts of Aspropirgos" on facebook .
From that point on , several animal loving citizens got together and took upon them the huge undertaking of feeding and caring for the poor strays that were dumped to live a life they didn't choose .
The actions of the group are now posted on facebook so that there is an archive of all the efforts made .
The first get-together took place on Saturday February 11 2012 with the participation of a large group of the volunteers .
About 30 to 35 people assembled and visited three locations where they fed strays and made a first written assessment as to the number and state of health of the animals .
Three dogs were transferred to the vet where it was diagnosed that two of them were suffering from venereal growths and the third one , a female puppy of 1 or 2 months , was suffering from intussusception of the bowel . The puppy underwent surgery but unfortunately didn't make it .
The conclusion we reached was that a coordinated team effort is needed in order to properly help the helpless animals .
There is a need for neutering , therapies for those strays that suffer from growths , lodging and promotion of the animals for adoption.
