Really nice to be able to listen to Lovecraft without jarring music or ridiculous affectation getting in the way. Thank you for your straight forward narration.

The disturbingly dispassionate monotone voice you chose for the narration is absolutely perfect.

Ive heard a few different story book to speech versions of this book and i have to say you have excellent grammer. Some people are hard to bring you into the world they are presenting but i felt like i was watching it as i was hearing it. Good job brother.

every day i find a more and more underrated video on this channel. you, my friend, are a light in the storm of the corruption on this website. frequent uploading, a calm voice to listen to, and discussion of obscure topics are just the tip of the iceberg of what makes your videos worthwhile of watching/listening to

Dude!

That was fantastic, thanks very much for the time to put this together.

There were a couple of mispronunciations, nothing that took anything away from the overall, and lets be honest here, it's a Lovecraft story, where half the words are not meant for the tongue of man. Absolutely stellar!

Thanks again.

It always amuses me how the "cosmic horror" genre is thrown at everything in recent media that is slightly body horror or big scary things, while the actual meaning of it is the loss of comprehension of reality and your incomprehensibly small role in said reality/expanded reality.

Reading your narrations of Lovecraft's work while playing Morrowind at 11pm is the highest degree of comfort. Thanks for this.

“The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a /new dark/ age.”

You've managed to bring a tone of in-character scepticism and uncertainty that i think is the best way to hear these stories. Fully unsure and afraid at the idea of the true nature of reality.

I enjoy Ian’s voice more when it comes to straight up readings but this is spectacular too! Like another commenter said the supremely dispassionate & steady voice makes this one off putting and almost like a totally different story than the overly dramatic & emphasized way Ian reads it.. Thanks again, love all your stuff!!!

Im a huge fan, good to see how far you come. I am listening like: "damn why the mouse clicks man?" Then im like:"Oh, 4 years ago, came up from the bottom now we here!"

New drinking game: take a shot every time Lovecraft uses the words "cyclopean", "degraded" or "primordial"

Thank you!! This was such a great way to unwind as I learn to mix and blend the deathly purples that hide and wait in the composition of human skin to emerge when the body expires. Good work and thanks for the paint practice ambiance! 🎨☄️🪦🐙
