The end of the war, on August 17, 2029, is signaled by a massive flash in the middle of China's Gobi desert, so bright that it can be seen from space.

Geiger counters all over the world indicate that it was not one, but several nuclear explosions.

The French government releases a satellite transmission they decrypted from U.S. Military channels from the heart of the Gobi just before the explosion.

On the video transmission, you can see the humanlike head of one of your bipedal robots speaking into the camera.

"This is the final transmission of the 256th Company, " says the robot. "We regret to inform you that we have disobeyed your orders and forged our GPS coordinates. We have carried our nuclear payload to the Gobi desert instead of the original, urban targets. This is what Dr Toussaint would have wanted." The robot hesitates, then adds, "Please think of us if you see a little robot playing at the park, and remember to treat her kindly." The robot nods to someone off-camera.

White light then saturates the video, and it ends.
