I first encountered white pepper cooking Japanese Miso Ramen. Other than that, I wouldn't have known there was white pepper. I only found this video becuase I wanted to know the difference. Great video. Straight to the point. 👍

despite being native to indonesia, black pepper are a lot less popular here especially for our traditional cookings.
we mostly use the white one because of the district smell and taste

I would never buy a pure ground white pepper. Its overpowering earthy and fermented taste is awful. I would absolutely buy either Muntok or Sarawak white peppercorn since it has an amazing citrusy aroma and complex flavor when freshly grounded.

My number one recommeded black and white pepper is Tellicherry and Sarawak
