First broadcast in 'OnCourse' Episode 23 we take the Farr X2 out for a spin to find out how this new 30footer performs and whether this innovative shorthanded racer could be a game changer. Plus, we ask about the elephant in the room...that keel.

In Part 2 we take a detailed look above and below decks

Great review, Matthew. How about going thorugh the 30 foot scene? dehler 30 OD, J99, etc.
Pros/cons. This looks slightly smaller, yet more power. Sounds like a classic Farr approach?

And glad to see how Farr Yacht Design adressed the keel issue.

Two things missing in the keel design reporting. Nice to see the detailed explanation of the new design but would love to see the stress/FEA analysis of the design. Also, the same analysis of the failed design. It’s nice to see, in detail, what the new design is, but to gain a better understanding of the original failed design would be helpful.

The Dehler 30 OD would be the closest similar design. Would love to see these two go head to head.

Would love to try one of these in Canada!

Pogo 36. For single/double handed fun. Not for racing.

4 or 5 isn't a full crew, full is 8 or 9. That many open slots is the only thing that allowed a regular person to get out and have a serious but non-professional racing career.

Hey it’s upright - the keel is still attached?!

Anyone else not think that incorrectly worn lifejackets in a promo is a big negative...we all know the history of the X2 so little details mean a lot

There is zero point wearing a lifejacket if it isn't fastened. If this is a reflection of the attitude of the project leader then should we be surprised that a boat lost its keel?

Why are Planet Sail devoting so much time (2nd video in 2 weeks) to this design which is still under question…..even the builders say they don’t know what actually caused the loss of a keel and still no final report published on the Nexba incident from the Australian authorities - IMO this design should be under a strict worldwide “no sail” order until that report is published. A car design, or an aircraft that had such a huge issue like Nexba had would be kept in the shed until the authorities formally sign off that it wasn’t a design issue and that the keel modification the builders have since made has resolved the design adequately to make it safe and fully dependable.

This boat almost killed 2, and Farr X2 has yet to disclose the catastrophic keel failure and how it got fixed. It is a shame that PlanetSail provides a propaganda window to an unscrupulous boat builder.
