I have been using them for a while, but I thought you had to strip the wires, thanks for the tip.

Very common for phone wires, I used to be a phone tech I can’t tell you how many thousands of these I installed. Fast, easy and never a failure even in outdoor environments

They are also cat5 if i am not mistaken so they will allow up 100mbps which is great for cut cables anyway as a quick fix.

3M says these are for solid core copper wire, stranded wire is not listed.

Not recommended for multi core cable!
It can result in failure.
Solid core only.
