Taking “I’m moving up and down, side to side, like a rollercoaster” to the next level.

It's quite scary to watch, imagine the amount of stress on the driver's body!

I really hope these new cars don't cause micro-tears in brain matter like they do for many bobsledders. Gotta soften that porpoising quickly!

Yeah, this is definitely gonna break some cars if they don't get it under control. Ferrari's done an excellent job so far with it.

my guess is a lot of teams have a fix for this issue but dont want to show it to the others.

Porpoising can cause brain injury, a well know phenomena in bob sledging sports.
Growing research that shows it might be the act of sledding itself that is the main driver of brain injury. With every run, athletes are exposed to immense force and vibration, causing micro-concussions that can add up to major damage. Those concussions are mild enough that they can go undiagnosed.

Honestly, F1 needs to fix this via rules. Yes, it's definitely the job of every team to do their best within the specified rules and failing to do so obviously affects their lap times. However, this failure to extract the best shouldn't cause a health/safety concern for the drivers. As of now porpoising will basically affect the drivers adversely irrespective of the effect on lap times.

As much as we want close racing, going back in time by reversing how sophisticated these cars are, is stupid when F1 refers itself as the pinnacle of engineering. These cars are practically million dollar go-karts at the moment. The mass dampers at least shouldn't have been banned.

This porpoising will always remind me of Lando's epic "...I just came to say hello..."-performance
