Shane, no exaggeration your videos are changing my life and perspective. Don't stop because you're a great videographer and teacher. I have been agonizing over med school for a long time now but so confused because family recommends it, my friends have gone into, yet I see friends who are so burnt out in the field. Like you said it's an irreversible decision (200k loans sometimes 400k). SHane I sh*t you not one of my friends wasn't even fully sold on med school and put down 400k loans to do carribean school!!!! it was family pressure. And its wild for some kids to be i school for 8 years minimum AFTER COLLEGE I REPEAT AFTER COLLEGE if they arent 100% sure of going into the medical field. Perhaps I need to do a bit more soul-searching and figure out whether I'd be happy as a pa instead, or a podiatrist or something else like optometry or dentistry. Its just a grueling path and I also have many hobbies like traveling, drumming, songwriting, writing, and building my comedy youtube channel med school seems like such a time suck even if they make 300k coming out. Anyways, hospital CEOs make a million a year without going to med school. Also, I am considering pharmacy which you did correct?

I knew a girl who wanted to be a veterinarian, but she didn't understand just how much science was required for that. She got CRUSHED in Biology. She wasn't good at it AT ALL. I remember seeing her balling her eyes out after the exam one day. She ended up switching to art as her major.

Hi first of all I love your videos, I have 2 questions that I would be very happy if you make videos about them
1) What are good degrees/jobs that pay well but not math heavy (or they dont include math at all)
2) What are the best degrees/jobs that good for adults in their 30s/40s who want to change their career and start over

Your door analogy is why guys hate being in the military but end up staying because once that door is closed, it's a tall task to reopen it.

Currently 31. What if you enjoy your work but hate the people and environment? Currently an electrician apprentice and I hate the toxic immature people. Im in the union and the pay, benefits, and pension will be good but I dont want to do this labour work forever. Also what if you feel like you are able to do more in life? Possibly thinking of going back to school for Chiropractic or Dentistry because I am afraid of this regret that I was meant to do more in life. I have a Bachelors already. Im just stuck right now

Going to be getting a B.S in Intelligence and Crime Analysis with a Cyber Security Concentration, so I think all these points you made checked off. Would like more input from anybody as well, but things are looking great as I will be finally taking my pre-requistes this upcoming fall semester!

I actually stopped eating my cereal to pay full attention because you hooked me so hard. Another fantastic video Shane!
In the future do you think you'll do a career ranker for people who are more linguistically inclined? The world today tends to favor those with logical and or mathematical prowess, so I'm curious (and I think others are too) as to how people who are skilled with words should navigate today's occupational environment.
Thanks again for the valuable information, I'm looking forward to the zoom meeting this weekend! :)

I did not undestand one thing. If we just don't have to be better than others? Like the pilot career, you don't have to be good in that, you just have like what you doing. I chose that career cause i feel it's my passion.

Just started Seth's digital marketing course. I don't know exactly what I want to do know, but I do know I can't just remain an unskilled server without being miserable. I am in recovery from addiction, so I have to keep that my number one priority and keeping stress a small part of my life, inevitable, sure, but high speed restaurants alongside the isolating nature since my coworkers are on drugs and all my friends work when I'm off and vice versa. Anyway, I wanted to be a nurse for so long, I don't think I can handle it, so I'm challenging myself to stay remote since computers are so foreign to me.

So I currently have a BSc. Psychology with management, MSc. Management with Project Management, cami level 7 diploma in strategic management and leadership, I have experience as a civil servant. I’m planning on getting a nursing degree(it’ll be free) then work as a mental health nurse while I get another masters and phd in economics. Leave that job and work as a clinical psych for a few years then work in an ngo as a development economist(the end goal).

My problem is what I’m good at (music) is also my passion but not where I’m currently working…but where I work is one of the few places where I can get stable income as a musician in a niche and very prestigious job.

But I’m not happy, or fulfilled…sorry for ramballing but I’d like some advice is all…is my plan good? Should I pursue what I stated? I plan on still doing music on the side while Im on that path.

Extremely helpful and awesome video! I actually almost made the mistake of going for a marketing degree when I really want to get into digital marketing! I watched some of your videos in the past that really made me rethink my decision. I haven't gotten a job yet but I have been getting into the later interview rounds!
