Crooked Smile After Botox

A cRoOkeD smile is a rare but real risk 🫠

It's caused when Botox 💉 affects the DLI muscle

DLI = Depressor Labii Inferioris (pushing down of the lower lip)

❗️ The smile can end up crooked if:

▪️ The DLI is accidentally injected with Botox
▪️ Botox diffuses into the DLI from another location
▪️ The intended area for Botox is manipulated after treatment

The intended locations are usually the mouth corners (DAOs) or chin (mentalis)

📌 1-2 units injected into the opposite DLI usually evens out the smile

And although this hides the lower teeth, it's better than a crooked smile

PS: It happened to ME before I was an injector AND right before I had to be on stage for a competition🫠

I wish I'd known there was an option to improve it!

I had an injector hit both DLIs. Youre bottom teeth not showing makes it hard to talk and eat, and my smile is horrible. Both suck. I would take the cute crooked smile
